Who's your favorite LOTR character?

Who's your favorite Lord of the Rings character and why? Mine is Samwise Gamgee. Without him, the ring would have never gotten to Mordor. He's brave, but not arrogant about it. He's loyal, an amazing friend, and he sticks to his word. He promised Gandalf he'd never lose Frodo and he didn't. Some people laugh at him and suggest he is gay for Frodo, but I know that's not the truth. He is just what a true friend should be is what he is. He does his absolute best to protect his friend and keep his word at the same time. I wish I had a friend like Sam =)
