How do I get my voice to open up more?

My voice is a little harder to control than before I think it's because I haven't practiced, I can sing simple verses or when I half to hit high notes it's harder to hit the notes I wanna make sure I sound good when other ppl hear me so any REALLY good advice, and I have trouble on the low notes going on high cause my throat dries and my voices like dies..
