Poisonous flea collar?! please help!?

we put a flea collar on my cat, frodo. i read the instructions after my mom put it on and it says "if in contact with skin, rinse for 15-20 minutes and contact a poison control center immediately". also, it is known to possibly cause cancer in pets and humans! and i touched the collar a few times. i took it off my kitty, threw it away, and thoroughly washed my hands and forearms with soap and water. i'm obsessive compulsive sometimes and i have really bad anxiety, and i'm worried that something bad will happen to me or my cat or my family. please help... is anything going to happen?
