A name of children's anthology?

When I was a child I had red and white hard-bound (maybe leather?) books. They had gold writing on them. They were a set of either 10 or 12 books that were supposed to "grow with you" (book number correlated to the age you were supposed to read them at). However, my favorite was always the first book because it was nursery rhymes and poems. I cherished these and would love to find out the name of the anthology or series of books. They were probably published in the 70s or 80s. I was born in 89, and i'm not sure if they were new-ish then, or if they were older than that. If they were my moms they would have been made in the 50s. Does anyone even remember these books? Does anyone know what they're called? Thanks.
